Pretty Little Things

Long time no blog! I’m proud to say that I’m done with my first year of graduate school classes and that I can kind of have a life again and submit myself back into society. This semester has been somewhat of a nightmare and my classes have thrown me through several loops but I’m guessing/hoping it’s made me a stronger person. Anyways, I’ve been rewarding myself in several ways for getting through certain parts of the semester. So first, I ordered a new agenda since I love the one I have for 2015-2016 and they are sure to sell out. This year, they have a new medium size so I went for it and I love it. Peonies are also my favorite flower so how could I resist? I also snagged a cute sticky note set which as plenty of notes to use throughout the year. The sticker book deal was too good to pass up and I have more than enough flair for my old and new planner. Hopefully, it’ll make organizing the next school year less depressing? Let’s hope so.

I also got caught up my lipstick obsession. Urban Decay is discontinuing their Revolution line of lipsticks to repackage them into the new Vice collection so they’re 50% off ($11) until June 2nd! It’s available at Macy’s, Sephora, Ulta, and the Urban Decay website. I’ve snagged from different stores to find the shades I wanted but so worth it.

From the swatches above: Sheer Rapture, Rapture, Manic, Jilted, Matte Bittersweet, Matte After Dark, Matte 1993.

I absolutely love Sheer Rapture as an everyday wear and the matte formula is so creamy and non-drying. I’ve worn 1993 several times and am so happy to find a brown nude that works for me. Bittersweet is unlike anything I own and I can’t wait to wear it and get out of my comfort zone with it. Jilted is also so pretty and has some metallic specks in it! Overall, these have made me happy to rock lipstick. Wearing lipstick more often has made me feel a little more confident that I can take on the world and it just makes you feel like a badass. How can you not when your lips are purple?

Lastly, I found these adorable hair pins at Francesca’s and they will be the perfect girly touch for my inevitable everyday up-do for lab this summer.

So there it is, #treatyoself is in full force as of my giant margarita yesterday (I will never have a drink that large again in my life). I leave for Chicago in days and I cannot wait for this trip! I’m off to finish laundry and start my weekend!
