I Don’t Know About You

…but I’m (sort of) feeling 22. As of Tuesday, my days of being 21 are over!

My boyfriend is all about birthdays and sees them as another new year celebration aside from the one on December 31st. I agree, and have felt more in the spirit about another year of life. I am of course grateful for another year to be around family and friends, to pursue my goals, and to enjoy all the delightful moments and things I have in my life. So that being said, I was treated to a birthday week rather than just a day!

The Sunday before was spent at an event at Williamsburg Winery called Unplugged & Uncorked. A good number of artists were there and it was a beautiful day for some tasty local wines and outdoor music.

Birthday people

Tuesday was my actual birthday which was spent first at city hall to apply for a passport, then lunch with my family (it was my dad’s birthday too!) at Watermans on the boardwalk.

With my boyfriend, he surprised with a USB of all of the pictures we had taken since we’ve been together and a digital picture frame to go along with it. I *might* have cried a little, but it was such a thoughtful gift. After the gift reveal and some Netflix, we headed to Gershwin’s in Downtown Norfolk to feel fancy, in which I was played a Frank Sinatra birthday song. Following dinner was a walk to the Pagoda on the water and then surprise cupcakes from Daniel’s roommate and then straight to bed!

The last celebration event was heading up to DC this weekend for the 20th anniversary of the Foo Fighters at RFK Stadium. I really enjoyed Heart and Gary Clark Jr. and of course the Foo Fighters. Dave Grohl still kicked ass even with a broken leg and especially with a personal throne for the tour. It was great way to spend the 4th of July and I could tell Daniel really enjoyed himself.

Once again, I’m back to wishing it was Friday today but for now, I’ll be enjoying taking on 22!
